Intense Interval Training Begins July 5th

Want amazing results? Time to try Tabata at Wave!

Tabata is a new training method which uses a number of different exercises focusing on whole body involvement or at least the major muscle groups.

This method, which combines four minute sessions of intense workouts followed by short rests, produces remarkable results including weight loss and improvement in both aerobic and anaerobic sports.

Each Tuesday beginning July 5th, 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

New High-Tech Equipment Has Arrived

In May, Wave replaced all cardio equipment with state-of-the-art treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary bikes.

Now, our top fitness machines - LifeFitness, Woodway and Precor – feature HD television screens and iPod docking stations that allow you to play TV shows and movies that you’ve downloaded to your device.

TIPS FROM THE TRAINER
Proper Stretching Techniques

Stretching should be a priority in your training routine as it helps blood and oxygen flow to the muscle, reducing the risk of injury. Stretching is equally important for resistance training as it is for going for a walk.

  • Active stretching lengthens the muscles before a long run, swim, bike or strength training.
  • Start with a few minutes of light resistance and slow speed of cardio, followed by easy stretches.
  • When weight training, try your first set with little to no weight. This will help increase oxygen and blood flow to the muscle - then you can increase to the desired weight.
  • After your workout, finish with a cool down and more stretching.
